My life with Marvel Comics
This is a weird thing to write, but I have talked to my family and my work at this point, which only leaves my friends.  A few months ago I applied to a job doing web dev at Marvel comics on the off chance that they would reply to a guy in Florida. Well, it’s been a somewhat long process, but suffice to say they did. They offered me a job and I accepted and as of the first week or so in...

R.I.P. F.D.R.
You were a great fish. You saw us through the first 2 years of our marriage almost to the day. Melissa picked you out especially to share the table where we ate our first meal as a married couple. You were always happy to see us, you loved when we opened up the windows, you tormented the crap out of Conan, and that one time you jumped into your air tube scared the living crap out of me. Thanks for...

Jason Ferguson: Don't let the perfect be the enemy... →

Soorya: About a Mentor Who'll be Missed →
soorya: The special person that Orlando lost this week was loved by so, so many. She was amazing, super friendly, so smart, and for a lack of better terms, always a joy. Many years ago, this special lady did something for me that I am forever thankful for. (The last time I saw her I tried to relay the…

New(ish) CSS Gradient rules imposed for webkit
So, I’m working on the new version of nerd appropriate and am making heavy use of CSS3 for the site. Why? Because drop shadows are a pain in the ass when done graphically and since we are in 100% control of how this site goes out I am making sure it degrades nicely, but isn’t necessarily pixel perfect on all fronts. So if you’re using modern builds of Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE,...
